Incorporating Authentic Speaking Practice
In a second language classroom, it can be difficult to create authentic speaking practice activities in your classroom. Here, you will find many techniques, activities, and resources that you may find beneficial to use in your own classroom!

Techniques

Using the target language as much as possible is a huge part of giving students authentic speaking practice; the more you speak it yourself and ask them to respond to you in the target language as well, even if it's just simple, 1-2 word answers, will get your students thinking and more comfortable speaking in the target language
Activities

-
One-On-One Interviews: have students interview each other in the target language. If needed, provide a list of questions to ask each other, such as "How old are you?" or "How many siblings do you have?" in the target language. You can also provide a list of words or starter sentences to answer these questions. At the end of the interviews, the pairs could present each other to the class
-
Weekend Chat: have students talk about where they went and what they did on Mondays after the weekend. You can present questions and responses, much like with the interview, to support them when speaking until they are able to do it without

The World Language Classroom site has so many amazing resources in general, but this page specifically has a lot of authentic techniques and activities to get students speaking in the target language; there is also a podcast at the top of the page about using the target language 90% of the time in the classroom if that is something you are wanting to add to your classroom
